EMS (ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM)

The operations manage the electric power systems with the objective that they are in a safe and optimal state of operation, taking  into account that the conditions of the system change in a normal operation day.

To achieve this objective, continuous monitoring of the power system is necessary through a SCADA system that allows the acquisition of different measurements in all the network. These measures can be power fluxes in the lines, the voltage level in the nodes, the current in the lines, output of generators, breakers states, position of the taps of the transformers, etc.

The measures mentioned are used by the EMS, to realize different functions such as contingency analysis, load prediction, optimal power flows, reactive power control, voltage control, state estimation, etc.

Action.EMS is a modeler and simulator of advanced power system, which is linked to SCADA system in real time and allows the execution of all the mentioned functions.
